Christofle's pet shopping day tomorrow has been postponed until next weekend. Until then, enjoy the snow! I personally am having a devil of a time flying to Austin for my friend's 30th birthday. Boo!

Update: print it out and shop in-store only. It was too early in the morning and I thought you could click through the email to shop online. I was wrong. Sorry!
People like my little sister (college junior) and my cousin (high school sophomore) shop Hollister. It's not really on my radar, but solid discounts are few and far between for the Abercrombie retail geniuses (begrudging as I am to admit that), so I thought I'd share this one for all the moms or older sisters or cousins out there.
Click through this link (or print the email) to get 20% off your purchase either online or in-stores.
Note: There seems to be no option to put in a promo code online, and I did a dummy check-out to see when the discount comes in-- as far as I can see (without hitting the 'Process Order' button), the discount is not shown... most likely a glitch in the matrix. I don't know if it would be better to call and harass the customer service people or just print out the coupon and shop in the store.
Update: Fur only, per commenter info. Boo.
Although this sale is being promoted as a largely fur sample sale, I think there might be other items available like coats, jackets, evening wear, and accessories. Prices should be pretty darn delicious, around 70-80% off.

On Saturday luxury silver- and crystal-smith Christofle is having a 'bring your pet to shop' day! From 2-6, bring your dog in for some organic doggie treats by Lisa Fortunato, who will be on hand with her doggie cookbook. ADORABLE.

Update: So, it went live at 1PM, and being a Manhattanite, I have to say I am underwhelmed. 35 participating spas in all of Manhattan? That's it?? I was excited to see that my gym was listed (the Equinox on Greenwich Ave), but when I called their spa, they told me they weren't doing it. Total boo!!! I also hate that they don't actually list what's available-- it's like doing door-to-door cold calls. Horrible. I guess I'll just wait for SpaWeek. (But, if you like foot massages and relaxation time, you should probably check on the Yelo deal.) Oh wait, it looks like they are adding in the actual services! Hmm, maybe I'll have another look.
I looooove SpaWeek. I won't lie, I abuse it as much as I can, and for the next one in April I'm hoping to squeeze in a microderm on Monday, a bodywrap on Wednesday, and a facial on Friday.
When it comes to the SpaFinder $50 Deal Days, though, I'm a total newbie. I have no idea if it's as good as SpaWeek, but I am *definitely* willing to give it a shot (esp since it's during March, and I'd rather not wait until April for a facial). The SpaFinder $50 Deal Days 'go live' Friday, but Mintbox is giving members early access to booking!
Starting today (not sure what time), log in and see what's available ahead of the crowd. If you aren't a member of Mintbox, you can join with code "AAMB5". I like the concept of Mintbox, which different from all these flash sales sites, taking a route which allows for cashback on purchases from certain vendors, as well as early access to special deals!
Take an additional 30% off all the sale merchandise on WHotelsTheStore.com with code "X7K48" through next Monday, Mar 1. There's some cute stuff including a white Vix bikini that is now $81 (retail $165)
Or bolster your ambiance with a D.L.&Co black skull candle for $34.

Although I hope I have taught you enough that you don't turn to places like Smart Bargains or Overstock.com for designer things (because goodness knows even BlueFly has moderately better discounts), in the event that you find yourself in need of some new down pillows, Ed Hardy jewelry (heaven forbid), or an unlocked LG Prada phone, here's a coupon for 7% off (the most they do). Use code "148256" through Sunday, Mar 7.
Racked NY has the dirt - DecadesTWO, the West Coast consignment store of the stars' cast-offs, is opening for one week in Soho. But if you don't want to send your email address into the great abyss, or have a particularly pessimistic outlook on your chances of winning, you can print out their coupon for 20% off a single, full-priced item in any BR store. Ends Mar 31.

Some really cute Herve Leger dresses are marked down on StyleBop.com. If looking at these doesn't get you in that where-the-hell-is-summer mood, I don't know what will. (Incidentally, StyleBop also has a nice selection of Celine and Valentino bags around 50% off.)
Taupe Metallic Mini dress $890 (retail $1,490)
Fuchsia Stretch V-Neck dress $1,015 (retail $1,310)
Magenta (although it looks more purple to me) Mini Stretch dress $695 (retail $950)
I'm on the hunt for some layering tanks, but my favorite bare-bones basic style (the shirred neck Mossimo ones from Target) are sold out online because I missed the clearance sale. So I start hunting for my standard favorites: James Perse, T by Alexander Wang, Hanro, etc...
I love the sale section at HerRoom.com (which includes Hanky Panky and La Perla and Cosabella) and found this really nice Hanro tank, only to see that it got a mere 3 star review. It piques my curiosity because EVERYTHING I've ever gotten from Hanro is at least 4 stars (in my opinion). Well... here's the review. And I gotta say, you go Elaine. Matronly be damned! (note her age)
*** Boys have the equivalent over at HisRoom.com, where I bought my grandpa Hanro boxers for his 80th birthday (in my book, if that's all you're asking for then I might as well go all-out). The sale section is not as robust as the womens', but it's still pretty decent.
Update: I got my $32 Rogan pants, and they are really nice. They came with all tags, so I googled the style (Ancon pant), and found this. I am duly impressed. Retail $336, light-weight wool, and the quality really shows. Perfect for my office job!
Update: I just wanted to add that these women's wide-leg Rogan dress pants are $32 (reg. $160). This is like a no-brainer, and there are other M Missoni items that are dirt cheap.
Hurry to YOOX.com and see what you can score for 80% off during their end-of-winter sale. Bear in mind that they are also doing free shipping right now too! Sale ends Monday, Mar 1, but free shipping ends Monday, Feb 22.
If only I had gotten their email earlier last week, I would have gotten my fake lashes from them directly instead of Beauty.com! Shop on the Shu Uemura USA website with code "BACK" to get 15% off. I got the email because I'm on their mailing list, but it probably is ok for everyone. Ends Sunday, Feb 28.

While walking home from lunch, I noticed a "downsizing sale" going on in a really cute paper shop I like. Since I'm just a fiend for fancy cards and handmade wrapping paper, I decided to pop in and have a look. My little detour resulted in me spending almost an hour wandering the aisles, examining the shelves for all sorts of treasures. I made off with lots of gift tags, a box of blank cards, and 3 boxes of gorgeous letterpress fill-in-yourself Bridal Shower cards and 3 boxes of fill-in-yourself bridal cards for a bachelorette party (I have maid-of-honor duties coming up). I saved so much money, since everything was 50% off (well, everything except for custom printing or Moleskine stuff).
They assured me they were not going out of business, but needed to clear out some room for renovations. I didn't even spare a look at the single-sheet wrapping paper or individual cards because I spent so long there already! But they really have a full stock of cute cards for all occasions, albums, notepads, pens, and gift bags/tags/boxes.

Filene's Basement on 6th Ave and 18th St (downstairs from T.J. Maxx and Bed Bath and Beyond) is closing, and it is well underway. I just happened to find out today as I went into BB&B to get some lightbulbs. Discounts store-wide are 60-80% off, but the store is pretty barren. Don't waste a thought on the remnant clothing or 5 pairs of shoes. However, if you like jewelry, you should take a look. A lot of blingy fun gem jewelry is pretty reasonably priced now.
I saw large onyx and diamond earrings for $439, the matching onyx-only pendant for $139, and lots of pieces with little diamonds for under $299. They are also taking an additional 20% off prices on fine jewelry. I couldn't walk away from a 7-7.5MM AAA Akoya pearl bracelet which came out to $159 ('retail' $699), although I did leave behind a 22" single-strand AAA Akoya pearl necklace which was $438 ('retail' $18xx). It was just a bit too long for me. I'm not sure what to make of their 'retail' prices, or put too much stock in the 'AAA' rating but it seemed like a good deal.
Piperlime sent out a unique coupon code today good for 20% off if you've never ordered from there before. They do this once in a while, so if you think one day you might shop from Piperlime, it might be worth it to sign up for their newsletter. If you need a code, email me. I am happy to give you mine. I popped by during my lunch break and the big consolidation sale is still going full-swing on the 9th floor. A lot of the merch has been re-sorted, and there are fewer designer name tags to indicate large amounts of rack space. Still there's plenty of St. John (like, a LOT), Escada, MaxMara, Ralph Lauren, Akris, Proenza Schouler, Valentino, YSL, Oscar de la Renta, and Carolina Hererra, and bits of Derek Lam and Dolce & Gabbana and Burberry.
If you are seeking a brand with just a few pieces left, you'll have to hunt. I found some Marni and a pair of Jason Wu pants against the wall by Versace, and in the middle of the Oscar de la Renta, pulled out the most fabulous Nina Ricci blazer. Unfortunately it was still fabulously priced at $860 after the discount (retail $2790).
The discount is still only 25% off the price tag. Seriously, after all this time, couldn't we do a little better than that?? Although to be fair, it is just at 30% of retail, so I couldn't complain about getting a really cute Burberry pencil skirt for $178. It seems that there is more merchandise too, so they must have shipped stuff in from other stores.

As I mentioned before, online boutique Red Square is shutting down. Their inventory is pretty sparse, but the quarry here is hangers. Shirt hangers, pant/skirt clip hangers, and lingerie hangers. Of course, these are not super high quality (you can see HangersDirect for more info on the shirt and clip hangers), but after the 70% off discount, they come out to $0.375 each (or $0.30 for the lingerie ones). Shipping is not too bad-- for me it is a flat $9.95. Use code "SC70" to take the 70% off. End date unknown, but since the store is closing, I'd hurry.
Wonderful reader Fashionista! has clued me in to a mens suit sale going on at the Hugo Boss outlet store in the Riverhead outlet mall. She says prices are $200-250, and she nabbed 2 suits for her DH. Womens blouses and pants are also on sale, which is music to my ears! I just organized all my dresses and skirts this weekend, and it's pretty evident that Hugo Boss is dear to my heart :)
The Lord & Taylor sale/clearance section is always fun to pillage for (usually pretty cheap) treasures. Now you can take an additional 15% off with code "SHOP", or, if you have the Lord & Taylor credit card, 20% off with code "SHOPLT". Ends Sunday, Feb 21.

Commenter Riri comes through with another very nice review! It's good to know that Marni is opening an outlet soon-- I love their jewelry and shoes. I'm now very sad I didn't have the time to shoot over there (and I work tomorrow!). Thanks for the info, Riri!
my second favorite brand, MARNI, is opening soon!!Fav brands will be having special markdown this weekend at Woodbury Common. Some of the things that caught my eye: +20% off at AG Jeans, +50% off clearance at Judith Leiber, +30% off at YSL, +50-75% off at Brioni, +25% off at Movado, +30-50% off some stuff at Burberry, discounts at Frette, +50% off sale at Gucci, +50-75% off sale at Catherine Malandrino... see the full list here. Today through Monday.
The real deal : GO TO BOTTEGA VENETTA !!!! They had a very nice rack of shoes at 60% off the already discounted price. Unfortunately they did not have my size, im an 11 but i guess you will find smaller sizes. Nice suede wedges and pumps and leather boots in gorgeous colors . Bags were discounted 25% and 40% sometimes more, and two racks of clothing were discounted 80% i found a cashmere sweater liliac color gorgeous for 80$ but it was too short so i left it there. Their leather is amazing.
Gucci has 50% off selected shoes styles some of which are very nice although i shopped presale, and 40% off some gorgeous wallets. Also 50% off selected handbags but those are only the canvas ones with g print which i personally dont like they look so cheap. YSL had 30% off ALL clothing selection and discounts on shoes as well . Nothing on handabgs but Hey, MUSE AND DOWNTOWN BAGS PRICED AT 1,099 and 1,199 i think that's amazing (no black/browns though), the same that were prices 1,299 and more at the manhattan flagship store sale..Although i found my muse two flap bag at 700$ in black patent and i'll never tell you where! lol !
ANOTHER OF MY FAVORITE, ETRO, IS DOING 70% OFF ! Selection is smaller now but you can still find gorgeous dresses and jackets for a franction of price. For men it is idilliac place!
GIUSEPPE ZANOTTI ...nothing special he has special all year round and i found better deals out of any special festivity dates anyway their prices are always good.
BALENCIAGA is doing sale too but their pieces seems like 100 years old not worth it.
Saturday, February 13, 2010
I made my pilgrimage to BWS yesterday afternoon and waltzed right in-- no line at 3PM on a Friday. They've totally reorganized the sale-- it's now by designer. This makes it infinitely easier to look for what you want, and I really love it.
I was amazed by how much Lanvin they have, and the wide variety of pieces. There were big cardigans, gorgeous delicate tulle dresses, and also some truly sad abused items, like a beautiful satin dress that was unraveling faster than Britney Spears. If you like Lanvin denim, they have a full rack of jeans with a grosgrain ribbon waist priced at ~$250.
There are also some fun coats available, including this ridiculously heavy brown Prada-meets-the-Trinity-from-Matrix concoction priced down to $1500 from $4000+. There were a couple of Lanvin overcoats, and some beautiful trenches from Luciano Barbera in US size 10-12. In the back left, there are racks of unsorted dresses, tops, and pants by size. If you're looking for a pair of pants, I'd recommend having a look through the racks because there are still good labels mixed in.
The shoes (at 3PM) were a disaster. The only Louboutins I found were dirty white satin ones. There weren't many Manolos either. I did see some Balenciaga suede booties which were really cute (~$450), and some Lanvin sandals I thought about for a long time ($434). If you're going for shoes, I'd go first thing in the morning when the display is pristine.
Overall, I'd agree with Riri's observation that lots of the goods look old. The shoes didn't strike me as super dated, but the price tags on the clothes had lots of markdowns scratched all over them. I found this super cute Lanvin satin tiered t-shirt dress for $314 (retail $1,049), but at size L, I had to leave it on the rack :( P.S. if you wear a size 52 or 54 in women's pants, there are a lot of Prada pairs just waiting for you at $111 each.

I haven't bought Bally in a looong time. I often wondered what happened to the brand and how it seems to have lost its cachet. The quality, however, has remained really good, (after all, it is Swiss).

Other items for women: Walter dresses and tops (50-60% off retail), Free People tops, G-star tops, and for men: Cold Method jackets and shirts, G-star, and some other brands I don't remember. Most of the prices are 60% off.

Update: Fabulous commenter Riri gives us the D/L on the Barney's sale. Apparently they are getting complacent. Bottom line: wait it out for better prices because the merch is old anyway.
i've been there today...i must tell you..barney does not impress me anymore. must be the economy, must have been all that endless friends and family sales..i now do find better stuff other places. Shoes seem to be very old, i saw styles that were at barney w. s. last year and on barney website like forever...also clothing seems old and again i saw some clothes that were at same barney warehouse sale last year..LIKE THEY REALLY MUST SELL YOU THOSE PIECES...Thanks Riri!!
first days prices are still high for what it is, better to check out in about 2 weeks. I mean i dont see much difference with Neiman marcus sales, where i seat, take it easy and have a nice gentlemen helping me out and giving me a brand new pair of shoes with brand new box and everything in it without having to claim my space just to look for my size.
Geek if i really had to go through all that mess at Barneys w.s. better do it for the right price, so lets check it out in about 10 days.
The sweater department very poor...the house dept i used to find good deals like i found some Salviati and Venini vases which were a good deal and some cashmere pillows really nice...nothing like that today. Forget the handbags and accessories.
Just a PSA. Get on it.

Endless.com keeps upping the ante, causing me to crack (oh how resolute I was!) and order a pair of Casadei pumps which will come to a rockin' total of $135 after all the dust is settled. In addition to the Bing.com 30% cashback, Endless.com themselves are doing 25% off select designer sale shoes. This would be anything I'm interested in anyway like Giuseppe Zanotti, Alessandre Dell'Acqua, Roberto Cavalli, Bally, Missoni, Georgina Goodman, Casadei, Marc by Marc Jacobs, and some Tier 2 labels like Stuart Weitzman and Donald Pliner. PLUS they give us free 2-day shipping (and return, just in case). It's a total no-brainer.
How to get your 48% off:
1. Get to Endless.com via Bing.com/cashback by searching for "SHOES"
2. Search for "DSGNR25"
3. Deliberate over which ones you like, just don't take too long as stock looks low
4. Heart racing, checkout to see your immediate 25% discount
5. Sign-in to your Bing.com to get your 30% cashback
6. Feel immense satisfaction at getting the shoe you want for a small fraction of the retail price (for me, 24% of retail!)

Daily Candy unleashed some great deals today.
My local West Village flower boutique Ovando is discounting arrangements Lush Garden, L’Amour, Rose Hedge, and Laced Orchid at 25% off with code "DCANDY" (P.S. boys, allegedly Gisele [you know the one] gets her flowers from here)
My favorites are L'Amour and Rose Hedge, and not the small arrangements either. (Those are probably only half a dozen roses). I like the concept of Lush Garden, but I can't imagine strawberries looking/smelling very nice after a couple days.
Blow off that dry winterized skin with DDF Skincare 25% off with code "DDFDC10". It's too bad they discontinued making RMX. I thought it was a miracle cream.

Supposedly they will have 'thousands' of pieces for this 'recession sale', and the price points look pretty good. 2/5–2/7 Samples, one-of-a-kind items, and vintage oddities are up to 80 percent off at Hayden-Harnett's spring cleaning warehouse and studio sale. 211 Franklin St., at Freeman St., Greenpoint, Brooklyn (718-349-2247); T–F (noon–8), S–Su (11–8). 253 Elizabeth St., nr. Houston St. (212-334-2247); daily (noon–8).
Some may consider it bad manners to profit from the demise of another, but although I am sad that some small online boutiques are closing down, another part of me is loving the discounts.
Everything is 50% off, as marked. Look for: lots of fun jewelry, Comme de Garcons wallets and accessories, Tom Ford sunglasses, and Beirn watersnake bags.
This Chicago boutique has been clearing out stuff for a while now. Use code "FINAL" to take 50% off prices.
Use code "SC50" to take 50% off everything.
They haven't declared that they are officially closing, but if you can take +70% off sale and 40% off everything else, that's a bad sign. Use codes "GET70" for an additional 70% off the sale merch, and code "40MORE" for 40% off regular priced. You may have to do 2 separate orders to use both codes. P.S. If you wear a ring size 8 or 9, you should go have a look.
Previously mentioned, this sale's entire stock of designer bags and shoes is 60% off.
This site started closing a few weeks ago with much fanfare, but I haven't written it up b/c of all the complaints I've heard about customer service. (Legal troubles = highly understaffed, some inventory management issues, credit card charging issues, doesn't ship on time or at all). Buy at your own risk! Use code "CD70" to take +70% off the sale merch and code "ADD40" to take 40% off the regular prices.
If there are any I don't know about, let me know.

PoshOnMain.com is unloading EVERYTHING at 60% off, including this Chloe Paddington padlock satchel in ivory for $634 (retail $1,585) and this uber-cute Lanvin satin tote for $314 (retail $785). I need to stop looking-- it's just too much! It's just incredible all the good things to be had for such great prices! (P.S.- super cute shoes, and if you wear a size 9+, you def want to have a look).
The cream version! I was originally going to get this for my BF for her bday, but settled on something else instead. MyTheresa.com has one last YSL mini tribute in cream. $324 USD and they are doing special 10 Euro international shipping (for a total of $337.53). Love it love it, but I just can't...
I was holding my breath to see if this day would come, and it has! Both the womens and mens selections are still not bad.
Unfortunately the Me&Ro 18K gold bangle they had on sale is sold out (and rightly so, as I checked it and they mis-priced the original retail at $2,700 when it should have been $4,500). It made me sad that I didn't jump on that fast enough (damn that self-restraint).
This 10K set is priced correctly and actually 80% off. Mental calculations tell me that jewelry at 80% off is pretty much at cost, which makes it still a great buy for a jewelry label that never goes that much on sale.

Here is the Lanvin ring I was agonizing over earlier. I was thisclose to getting it, but then my little sister told me she had no money for rent (she's in college), and instead of getting my ring I made sure she wouldn't get evicted for February. What a good big sister I am! ;)
This gorgeous pearl and tulle statement piece evokes a lot of emotion in me: an olde world Coco-Chanel-meets-Mrs.-Havisham-type of elegance. On ShopZoeOnline.com for $329 (retail $470).
Since I do a lot of online window shopping (and theoretically, less actual purchasing if I stick to my 2010 resolutions), I'm going to start posting the things I normally would buy, but won't due to my excellent self-restraint. Then at least hopefully I'll be helping someone out!
A couple days ago, I came across this patent blue mini YSL Tribute bag on MyTheresa.com. It's 50% off and comes to $321.22, which is a pretty darn good price. (You will need to put it into your cart to see the price without VAT) The downside, is, of course, the shipping from Deutschland, which will cost you $63. However, it's a not a bad deal to get a mini YSL for $384 when it retails $600+.

Since I got the extra 10% off certain Dreambox items over the weekend, I feel this announcement is a bit anti-climactic (not to mention some of the prices on clothing items in my Dreambox haven't changed), BUT... YOOX has taken additional reductions on F/W to make some items up to 70% off.
