*Sigh*. Another Sample Sale? You New Yorkers certainly are a lucky bunch. Though it's probably a good thing I don't live in NYC, otherwise I'd be broke in a matter of weeks. Anyways, if you're attending the sales, I wish you good luck and hope you'll be able to get lots of good deals.

  2. We are indeed very blessed!!! I've become quite spoiled for sure! Luckily though, a lot of online sites are picking up the slack (theOutnet, NM flash sales, YOOX, Gilt/RueLaLa/etc), so it's becoming less of a New Yorkers-only game :)

  3. Oooh thanks for the Luisaviaroma tip! I will have to start paying attention to that site! I've never actually bought anything from them either. LOVE YOOX. I just wished they'd do a better job packaging their boxes b/c I get all these really shady beat-up looking packages at work, and I'm SURE my mailroom thinks there's something wrong with me.

I can't believe you're not on Gilt! They pretty much started the frenzied lunchtime shopping trend. Although I am a member of all these online sites (see right hand side of my page), I admit I buy from Gilt the most often. RueLaLa 2nd most often. I think Gilt has a really good selection of brands, and although you have to do some research on their prices (or just know your designer), for the most part they are pretty good discounts. I actually get a lot of my friends' bday presents from Gilt--mostly jewelry!

Thanks for your reply. :-) As to me not being on Gilt, I think that's actually due to the last bit of self-preservation and self-restraint I am able to muster. Even though that is slowly but surely waning to..and the fact that I visit blogs and websites for bargain hunters, is not helping any, either.
And yes, Yoox packaging leaves a lot to be desired, as say, compared to the Outnet. Then again, I always try to put my conscience at ease by choosing the "environmental friendly" way of packaging. Yeah, as if that actually helped my credit card and bank account in any way... :-P

  5. AHAHAHA. Is that what the 'brown box' option is? Recycled boxes?? Hahahaha, I thought they were just considerate of people working in offices who needed more discretion than a box that says YOOXYOOXYOOX all over it! Ok, well I guess since it's seen a lot of days, I can forgive the shoddy packaging.

I definitely feel your pain re: self-restraint. It's really difficult! I often think to myself, when will I ever find this for this price again? Probably never! Once in a while I go on a credit card diet, and cease all shopping for a month... although I wonder if that isn't really counterproductive because once I start shopping again, I'm back with a vengeance!

That sounds a lot like you've invented yo-yo dieting for credit cards. I'm not a doctor, but it doesn't sound very healthy. :-P
And yes, I think the brown boxes are recycled and thus intended to protect the environment...or so they say. Or perhaps it has something to do with the shipping options? Express deliveries get the "Yoox" boxes, everyone else gets the regular ones? Oh well, what really counts is the "inner beauty" of the package, right?
