Accepted!
Sorry for not posting a whole lot, but yesterday morning I was notified that I got accepted into INSEAD, the #4 MBA program in the world according the FT. Needless to say I basically did nothing all day yesterday but tell people the good news and giggle to myself, and hubby and me went to celebrate an early blowout dinner at Bar Masa.
There are so very few things in life I love as much as I love Bar Masa, the 'casual' bar and dining establishment by Masa, and I say that with the first love of my life, Per Se, down the hall. The food is phenomenal, the drinks are the best drinks you'll have in the city. Honestly. It's probably the only restaurant in the city where a significant percentage of our total bill is alcohol. You'll down 3 before you realize you can't stand up. The only thing is... the other patrons are weird. Very weird.
I HIGHLY recommend the Raspberry Champagne Cocktail made of Laurent Perrier champagne, Japanese shiso leaf and fresh raspberry puree. It's ridiculous.

Goodies from TheOutnet bag sale
Update: Both bags are spoken for! I'm so happy that these are going to gals who missed out :)
In the frenzy of yesterday's TheOutnet bag sale, I snagged an Alexander Wang mini Rocco. However, then a Miu Miu clutch became available, and I thought I'd rather have that instead since I need a black clutch. I called to cancel my AW order, but the phone lines were swamped, so although they took my details, the bag got shipped last night anyway!
So I got both bags this morning (super amazingly fast shipping!). The AW is cute and I love touching it and holding it, but I really cannot justify it right now (when I am supposed to be saving for business school!). It's too large of a purchase, and I don't really need a day-to-day bag, so it would be quite naughty to keep it.
So before I return it, I am offering the bag to anyone interested. It sold out pretty quickly, so I figure there might be a girl out there who is sad she missed out. I'm not looking to make a profit-- I paid $531.15 total (bag, tax, shipping), so that's what I'd ask from anyone who wants it. However, the return window closes in 14 days, so it would likely be final sale. Anyways, if you're interested, let me know. The product page is here, and I found an archived product on NAP which seems to match up exactly. And comparing the real thing to the photos, I think they're one and the same. The strap is wound up in tissue paper properly (I didn't open it), and there's a black AW dustbag as well.
On another note, the Miu Miu clutch I got, which was a great deal, is HUGE. I put a picture of me below holding it-- what do you think?? It's 15" wide! Obviously it is right out as an evening bag, but is it even too big and unwieldy to be a day clutch? My coworker thinks I'm too petite for it, but friend Kelly is a fan. I'm torn. Please weigh in! It was $298.16, so it wouldn't be worth keeping if I can't use it...

No amulets left other than 2 really big ones with original retail prices of $17k. At 10am this morning, there was a healthy selection of rose gold angel charms, both with diamonds and with only 3 (sale prices starting at $330). The zodiac pieces have been depleted, with a small selection remaining. Sterling silver zodiac necklaces, originally $250 are now 60% off. They do lots of running promos, but today's Overstock.com email said "JEWERLY CLEARANCE" and that definitely caught my eye! I have to admit I've gotten quite a few pieces of costume jewelry from here-- especially big fun rings, like this jade one which I wear on weekends.
