Ferragamo sample sale

Update: Awesome comment from a reader

Men's shoes $139, women's shoes $99, silk scarf $69, tie $59, jewelry $29 or was it $39, plus handbags of various prices. Sale is not that great, I saw better prices in woman's shoes in President's weekend in Woodbury Common's Ferragamo outplet. There is a long line outside the building. I got there at 9am sharp and waited 3 hours to get in. Line is not that long, but moves very very slow bcause no one came out. Problem comes that they have mixed shoe boxes on tables sorted by sizes. Worst of all, they stack up 2 boxes and have size label (A, B, C, D, EE, etc.) facing the workers, not the customer, so every customer has to flip throught all the boxes to see what are in the bottom boxes. I think they did that deliberately playing psychology. Since I spent 3 hours waiting in line, I feel I have to buy a lot to make my time worth it, but later regret that decision, sort of. Almost everyone think the same way, everyone came out with boxes and bags bigger than mine. I mean every one.

I love being able to sweet-talk my husband into going to these sales with me, and it definitely helps when they are a) an awesome designer, and b) for men as well as women. The Ferragamo sale fits the bill. Get shoes, leather goods, RTW & accessories up to 80% off retail. See you there!

Dunhill sample sale report

There were no crowds at the Dunhill sample sale this morning, and overall I found the selection pretty good.

There were a number of styles of cufflinks, tie clips, sunglasses, a few styles in pens, mens business/dress shirts, sweaters, hats, belts, socks, and some shoes. Everything, more or less, was 60% off, not a bad start-off point at all, and I am sure by the end of the sale, it will get better. The best thing I saw was a limited edition black lacquer box of the Sidecar Leather Chassis ballpoint or fountain pen, retail $660-865, now under $300! A beautiful, fabulous gift. Or, if the man in your life prefers gold cufflinks, you can find some there too.

Loehmann's clearance sale

Loehmann's clearance sale started yesterday and ends Wednesday, Feb 11th. Everything with a red sticker costs 50% less, which is awesome. Upon hearing about this sale, I felt compelled to pop in, and I scored Cole Haan Nike Air flats for $25 (retail $185). By pure happenstance, I sauntered into the Prada boutique in Soho this afternoon and discovered that they have added boots to the shoe sale! Just marked down 3 days ago, I nabbed a pair that usually cost $950 for only $380 (all boots are 60% off!). It's definitely worth a look ;)
