"Ok -so I'm trying to decide whether I should purchase a Brunello Cucinelli ensemble at full price, or wait until it goes down. Saks already has this line on sale, not sure why BG and Neimans are holding off. Anyone have any info?"Starting Wednesday, Dec 2, Bergdorf is starting their winter sale. RTW, shoes, accessories, bags, and 3rd floor mens designer sportswear will be discounted up to 40%. Will be online as well.
Then from Thursday, Dec 3 - Sunday, Dec 6, they are doing their beauty gift card event. I love this event, because if you spend $100, they take $25 off. And I don't know how it kind of drops off, but after that, if you spend $500 you get a $50 giftcard, $750 = $75 giftcard, $1000 = $100 giftcard. BG's idea of beauty is not only cosmetics, but also men's fragrance, sunglasses, and Wolford hosiery (which, by the way, I loaded up on at a Marshalls in Houston). I am not sure if this event will be online as well.
I love this sale too but I never heard of a "drop off" in discount. Most makeup doesn't cost near $500.
ReplyDeleteI remember a couple of years ago going to this event and buying $400 worth of beauty products, broken down into $100 increments. That way I only paid $75 four times. I just floated from island to island.
A little clarification. You mentioned you get $25 off if you spend $100 but then you mentioned getting "gift cards" for $500 spent.
ReplyDeleteAre they giving discounts or are they taking off money?
Well, to be honest, I have never done their gift card promo, so I don't know if they hand you a physical card. It is also a real head-scratcher to me as to why the incentive drops off. I imagine the $25 off is a probably supposed to be a one-time thing, they are hoping you'll spend $525 to get your $25 off AND the $50 gift card.
ReplyDeleteLast time, as a previous poster mentioned, I bought over $100 in La Mer and got the $25 off at the register, and I would *definitely* do the float-around to get multiple $25 credits. (Or go on diff days!)

ReplyDeletewell its risk versus reward i have waited for a few items to go on sale and sometimes i end up getting it and a few times someone beat me to it. most sites like saks and neimans online you can check the quantity of the items they have in stock for your particular size by adding the items to your cart and adjusting the amount. IF you really want it and cant live without it lol my advice go for it... if your on a budget like me wait for the sale but make sure you keep checking it cause sometimes they make new additions for sale items and don't advertise it..
ReplyDeleteeau de vie
ps if someone out there has the power to make stuff on neimans go on sale can i be ur best friend forever ever ?? please
ReplyDeletepss theres these manolo blahniks i want to get for my girlfriend and if you can cut the price 30-40% you would make me like the best boyfriend ever
thanks :)
Eau
Eau you are a nice friend!
ReplyDeleteas for the full price outfit, do the stores offer a price adjustment if you buy it right now full price and it goes on sale in the next 7-10 days? If a price adjustment is a possibility and you are willing to gamble that it will go on sale soon, then maybe you should try that. good luck!
I just took advantage of the beauty event. I bought a pair of $130 Ray Bans and they took off $25.
ReplyDeleteGood deal considering Ray Bans don't go on sale too often.
