Tax-free shopping week for back-to-school in CT

Here in NYC we have a lot to be grateful for: plentiful shopping venues, abundant sales, and no sales tax for clothing items under $110 and still a peasley 4.375% state tax for all clothing and shoes above that threshold. However if you shop outside of the city limits, you'll get stuck with it all, except for these few golden times when your local government declares a tax-free week for those in need of outfitting themselves (or their children) for Fall/Winter 2008.

For the week starting Sunday, August 17 - Saturday, August 23,
Connecticut will be hosting a tax-free week for clothes and shoes up to $300 (their everyday tax-free limit is $50). So if you are planning on visiting Clinton Crossing Premium Outlets to check out that Burton clearance center, this would be a good time to go!
