My strategy? Unless there is a new gadget you want that only Sephora has or a makeup label that BG doesn't carry (like Dior), I'd sit this one out. As loyal as I am to Saks F&F, I'm skipping the beauty this year and heading upstairs (to shoes, naturally, for a pair of Repettos). I'm getting Kanebo Sensai, Cle de Peau beauty, Chantecaille, and Le Metier from BG, and I'm waiting to order my La Mer and La Prairie from Douglas Cosmetics in May.

  1. Hey what would you recommend from the Kanebo and Cle de Peau Beaute line? I'm trying to find replacement skincare products. I used to use Shu Uemura but no longer like their skincare line.

  2. My favorite Kanebo product in the world is the hair mask, although I also use their toner (Lotion). I don't use their moisturizers because I prefer one with SPF. I like their cellular performance mask as an overnight treatment (just wash, toner, and this) maybe twice a week.

    For Cle de Peau, I only get makeup-- I have not tried any of the skincare (their concealer stick is THE bomb when I have redness or really want to cover my light freckles). I am also going to try out their cotton pads since I think the quality of Shiseido cotton is going down the tubes.

    Honestly my entire skincare line is 95% La Prairie-- the foam cleanser, the exfoliant, the daily moisturizer with SPF30, the marine algae night cream, and the lightening serum. From La Mer I get the hydrating serum (a very light moisturizer I use on a really hot night or feel like I don't need a night cream), the eye concentrate, and the lip balm.

    Everyone's skin is really different, and mine is super sensitive to chemicals and prone to monthly cystic acne. I have a shinier t-zone. I've finally found skincare that works for me (La Prairie) because my pores clog easily around my nose, and some products give me an allergic reaction (like Neutrogena or Benefit). Totally pain-in-the-caboose skin. However since I've found what works (and stuck to it for a couple yrs now), my skin is really good. Cystic acne is greatly reduced. The facialist I went to a while ago said I had the best skin she'd ever seen-- way better than the Victoria's Secret model clients she has. BUT, I am totally OCD about my face, so I hope I haven't scared you!

  7. Hi Grace! The Saks F&F will be open to all. They will email the online code and flyer to the ppl on their mailing list and cardholders (like me), and of course we will then share it with everyone :)

    Anonymous - you're welcome! I am a bit OCD, I suppose ::blush::

    hey dear, how do you know if Douglas will carry the particular La Prairie product that I want? Do you have to call them?

  9. ^ Hi! Yes, I would definitely call around to see which Douglas store carries what you want. That way if none of them do, you can get it from Saks or BG!
